Application

Entrance exam

  • The information on the entrance exam and other requirements
  • To check the results of entrance exams and acceptance to study, go to the online application and fill in your university number (found in Online Application, the section of Personal Information) and your initials (e.g., John Brown = JB).

Study programme

  • Information about the study programme of Physiotherapy is found on the Faculty website, together with the study plan listing all courses offered within the programme.

Degree recognition within the EU

  • Each country has its own legislative procedures for recognizing diplomas in different fields from different universities. As the EU does not have one health professions board, we cannot grant the degree recognition.
  • We recommend that our students check with the intended countries’ health professions to ensure their degree will be recognized. Some countries may also require additional certification.

VISA

  • Prominent students must apply for and obtain their VISA before their arrival to the Czech Republic
  • Detailed information on the process and the documents required are described on the Welcome Office website.

Medical insurance

Course recognition from previous studies

  • After enrolment in studies, students can apply for the recognition of courses finished in their previous studies at a university in the Czech Republic or abroad.
  • Students cannot apply for course recognition before enrolment.
  • A course cannot be recognized if the course was passed more than three years from the date of the request for recognition.

Dormitories

  • General information on the accommodation.
  • Upon arrival, the dormitory will report the student’s arrival to the Czech Foreign Police Office (see the section Reporting the place of residence).
  • Students who don’t wish to be accommodated in dorms should inform the International Relations Officer, Mrs. Irena Jedličková (irena.jedlickova@upol.cz). Students in a private accommodation must report their arrival to the country to the Czech Foreign Police office within 3 days of their arrival.
  • Any questions or problems with the accommodation or the Internet within dormitories should be addressed to the Dormitory management office at skam@upol.cz

ISIC cards and Student cards

  • Students should apply for a student card to use the university services (canteen, library, etc.).
  • The application is completed in the Online Application – students fill in their personal information, upload their photo in the required size and format and pay the appropriate fee by bank transfer or bank card. To confirm the successful application for the student card, watch the status bar in the section in the Online Application.
  • Those students who do not have access to the Online Application can order the Student Card by filling out the paper application, attaching the passport photo to it, and applying for the card in person at the ID Card Office on Biskupské náměstí 1, room 3.87 (the entrance is opposite to Coffee Library café).
  • Those students who cannot pay by bank transfer or credit card must pay at the ID Card Office, preferably by card or with cash. The ID Card Office resides on Biskupské náměstí 1, room 3.87 (the entrance is opposite to Coffee Library café).
  • After receiving an email from the ID Card Office that the student card is ready, the student books an appointment online according to the instructions given in the email. Students cannot receive a student card without a previous appointment.

Buddies

  • Every international student will receive a buddy – a Czech student of UP – a month before the enrolment to study. Buddies assist students at the beginning of their stay with arriving in the dormitory, payment, course registration, and orientation within and around the city.
