Statement of the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences of Palacky University in Olomouc №3 2021

Dean of FHS UP in Olomouc prof. MUDr. Martin Procházka, Ph.D. orders following conditions for the summer semester 2020/2021 lessons and business concerning current epidemiological situation in the Czech Republic and regarding the Resolution of the Government of the Czech Republic No. 248 of 5 March 2021

1.    Education activity concerning first and second grades of the Bachelor´s degree and first grades of the Master´s degree on a full-time study on the FHS will work with regards to the Government resolution defined above under these conditions:

  • Declared work obligation for first and second grades of the Bachelor´s degree and first grades of the Master´s degree non-medical health study programs on the full-time study will be fulfilled with cooperation with regional governors and health care providers.
  • Exception for the work obligation will be granted only to those students who will prove that they already work for a health care provider which provides acute inpatient care to patients with covid-19.
  • Health care providers are obligated to provide COVID-19 vaccination to the students immediately after their arrival.
  • Study for the students with work obligation in the summer semester will be adjusted as follows:
    • Studies for students who do not have work obligations will happen accordingly to their normal timetable.
    • Students who exert work obligation or work for the health care provider which provides acute inpatient care to patients with covid-19 will be excused from the classes. Fulfillment of the study obligations will be solved individually with the cooperation of program guarantors and heads of field guaranteeing workplaces.   
    • Theoretical and theoretical-practical subjects will be realized via distant form of education – annotated presentations, video recordings (apply to seminars, lectures and practical seminars) for the students who do not have work obligations.
    • Practical subjects (internship) will happen accordingly to the summer semester timetable with a difference that work obligation or work for the health care provider which provides acute inpatient care to patients with covid-19 will count as the execution of practical subjects (internship), if it corresponds with the hourly subsidy of the internship.
    • In case of work obligation or work for the health care provider which provides acute inpatient care to patients with covid-19 outside the schedule of the given internship will be possible to recognize this performance as an internship based on the student's request, documentation of work performance, and individual assessment of the situation.

2.    Educational activity concerning final years of full-time study of Bachelor's program and follow-up Master's program and all grades of part-time study Bachelor's program and follow-up Master's program and also students of the Physiotherapy study program on FHS will abide those rules:

  • Study groups for lessons for the summer semester 2020/2021 will be accordingly to the summer semester timetable.
  • Theoretical and theoretical-practical subjects will be realized via a hybrid form of study, i.e. combination of online lessons with present lessons or as online lessons, if the subject requires so but always according to the current conditions given by the government or RHS.
  • Practical subjects and specialized internships will happen with respect to the current conditions given by the government or RHS. Ing., Bc. 3.    Operating conditions and other activities at FHS:

  • Employees and students are obligated not to stay at the FHS building in case of having COVID-19 symptoms. They should contact their attending physician and act accordingly to levied treatment measurements or measurements imposed by public health authorities.
  • Employees and students are obligated to maintain increased hand hygiene (hand washing and disinfecting), wear facemasks, and respect other measurements given by the government or RHS.
  • Hand disinfectants are available in all FHS classrooms.

5.    Guarantors and heads in cooperation with guarantors and teachers of accredited study programs will ensure realisation of lessons and business of FHS UP in Olomouc in summer semester 2021 accordingly to government measurements
