WINTER SCHOOL IN MIDWIREFY 2019

Faculty of Health Sciences, Palacký University Olomouc, in cooperation with University
Hospital Olomouc are proud to organise the first Olomouc Winter School entitled Midwifery in the 21st century. Apart from students and scholars from Olomouc, the four-day event will be attended by students and lecturers from partner institutions: PXL Hasselt, Belgium, and Tallinn Healthcare College, Estonia, with a guest lecture and training by Barbara Kosfeld, Germany.

THE GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE WINTER SCHOOLS IS TO

  • present current perinatal data from participating countries
  • carry out practical training in examination techniques with a focus on physiological pregnancy
  • acquire theoretical knowledge and improve practical skills in high-risk pregnancy and emergency situations
  • facilitate the implementation of EBM into practice
  • broaden the horizons of midwifery care
  • practice and improve English communication skills and work in an international team

PROGRAMME
The theoretical part (lectures) will take place at the Faculty of Health Sciences. The practical sessions will take place at the Clinic of Gynaecology and Obstetrics of University Hospital

Olomouc:

  • Delivery Rooms
  • Postpartum Unit
  • Newborns Unit
  • Neonatal Intensive Care and Intermediate Neonatal Care
  • Department of Gynaecology

For the practical training, students will be divided into five groups of three students. Please note that uniforms are required for the practical sessions.
